Here’s a tip from Happy Skin for keeping your brushes clean to avoid breakouts, rashes or any other pre-existing conditions on your face:

Sanitize your brushes in between uses. For a quick fix, spritz a makeup brush cleaner on the bristles and sweep brushes clean on a tissue paper to remove build-up of makeup, oil, and bacteria. For deep cleaning your brushes once a week, squirt some liquid soap on the palm of your hand and swirl brushes as they lather. Rinse thoroughly under running water, and gently squeeze the bristles until water runs clear. Lay brushes flat to dry. Let dry in a well-ventilated place. (via happyskincosmetics.com)

House your makeup brushes in their brush sleeves to keep them in perfect shape
